Chess is a classic two-player strategy board game with a long history and rich strategic depth. How to Play

Chess is played on an 8×8 board, with two players taking turns to move pieces. The goal is to checkmate your opponent's king.

  • Each piece moves differently:
    • Pawn: Moves forward one square, initially can move two squares. Captures diagonally.
    • Rook: Moves horizontally or vertically any number of squares.
    • Knight: Moves in an "L" shape (two squares in one direction, then one square perpendicular).
    • Bishop: Moves diagonally any number of squares.
    • Queen: Combines the movement of rook and bishop.
    • King: Moves one square in any direction.
  • Special moves include castling, en passant capture, and pawn promotion
